Hold → speak → paste

Hold the global hotkey to record. Release to trigger whisper.cpp transcription. The result is pasted directly into the focused application — terminal, editor, browser, or any desktop app.

100% on-device, no upload

Transcription runs locally via whisper.cpp. Audio never leaves your machine. Yap works offline and produces no network traffic during dictation.

Terminal-aware paste modes

Yap detects when a terminal emulator is focused and uses the correct paste mechanism. Transcription history is stored in a local SQLite database for quick access.
